At least 2 weeks is always preferred. The end of the month is the busiest time for moving, so please contact us well in advance to make sure that we have availability. Weekends are people’s preferred move days, so if you have the flexibility to move during the week, we can often accommodate moves with shorter notice.
03.
The number of movers needed for your move varies based on several factors, making each situation unique. As a general rule of thumb, a one-bedroom move typically requires 2 movers, while two to three bedrooms may need 3-4 movers. However, this can change depending on factors such as the amount of packing involved, any long carries, and the volume of furniture.
04.
Prohibited items include flammables, guns, unbowed items.
05.
Yes, for the most part, movers do take apart furniture. Our movers typically disassemble items such as beds, cribs, dining tables, office desks, and more. The primary reasons for this are to facilitate the move and to ensure the furniture can fit through doorways and other tight spaces. Sometimes, disassembling furniture can take longer than expected due to worn screws. When the shape of a screw is no longer intact, the screwdriver may have difficulty gripping it. Despite these challenges, our movers are experienced in handling such issues.
06.
Our movers are dedicated to their job, which means they will treat your belongings as if it was their own. With that in mind, you can rest assured that we will do everything possible to avoid any kind of damage during your move.
However, damage does occasionally happen in this industry. We carry the standard coverage that is required by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. If this is the case, our basic moving insurance of $0.60 per pound per article is provided to every customer free of charge. Our claims resolution team will do their best to resolve the issue in a timely manner. Additional insurance is available on request.

No. Polaris Moving Company operates with transparent hourly pricing. We do not charge extra for stairs, elevators, long carries, or credit card payments.
To keep our base rates low, we only charge extra for specialized resources:
• Packing Materials: Boxes, tape, and bubble wrap are charged based on actual usage.
• Heavy Item Handling: Due to specialized equipment and additional labor requirements, a flat fee applies to pianos, safes, or items over 300 lbs.
All information about our price will be strictly indicated in your booking confirmation.
02.
Our prices are based on an hourly rate, calculated by the total time spent on the job site. This includes all aspects of the move, ensuring you only pay for the services you receive. Here’s a breakdown of how our pricing works:
Hourly Rate Calculation
The formula for our pricing is:
(Loading Time)+(Drive Time)+(Unloading Time)=Total Hours
This total is then multiplied by our hourly rate to determine the final cost of your move.
03.
We don’t have any specific charge for Packing Service itself. Packing Services are included in your hourly rate and the price is a matter of time it takes to complete your move.
