Bedford Movers

5.0 on Google · No truck fee · No card fee · No distance charge

Big trees over the driveway, a garage that opens onto the alley, an attic full of boxes: older Bedford houses take planning. Our Bedford movers, with 5 to 10+ years on the job, check the street before the truck parks. Polaris is locally owned and rated 5.0 on Google, and 2 movers cost $139 an hour together with the truck, with no truck fee and no card fee.

What comes with every Bedford move

The truck is in the rate
Some movers around DFW add a separate truck or travel fee, and one posts $99 for it. A Bedford 4-bedroom with us, 4 movers and the 26-ft truck for 6 hours, comes to 6 × $219 = $1,314, and the truck costs nothing extra.
No trip fee to Bedford
Bedford is well inside our service area, so sending a crew to you costs nothing, and your bill begins at your door, when the crew arrives.
No card fee
Paying by card shouldn't cost more. One DFW mover posts a 2.5% card fee, which would add $24.61 to a $984.50 Bedford move; we charge Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay at the cash price, with no card fee at all.
A crew lead runs your move
Your crew lead arrives with a crew and truck of their own, tours the house and the garage with you before anything is lifted, and sticks to your written proposal.
On time on moving day
Your crew shows up on time, which matters when a buyer's walk-through or a new lease starts the same day.
Booked right away
Forget waiting days for a callback: a typical apartment books online in minutes, and a Bedford house usually has its written proposal within 30 minutes.

Your own total depends on what you have, the access at both houses and whether we pack, and materials such as stretch wrap or boxes are charged only when you ask for them. Your written proposal sets out the same lines for your move: the hourly rate and the estimated hours, with no fee tacked on later.

Bedford neighborhoods, alleys and old trees

Most of Bedford is settled neighborhoods of brick houses, and on many streets a paved alley runs behind the back fences, with the garage opening onto it. Mature trees shade both, and a low limb can scrape the box of a 26-ft truck, so the crew looks at the street and the alley before choosing where to park. Apartments and townhomes sit mostly along SH-183, the Airport Freeway, and SH-121.

Some Bedford subdivisions have an HOA with rules for moving trucks, and some townhome communities limit where a truck may stand. Mention those rules, or attach a photo of the alley, when you request a quote; we plan the truck, the crew and the carry around them at the same hourly rate.

Where in Bedford we move

We're a moving company based in Carrollton that covers every street in Bedford, from the brick houses under old trees to the townhomes and apartments along SH-183 and SH-121, plus Hurst and Colleyville next door.

Hurst and Euless

Hurst is Bedford's neighbor to the west and Euless its neighbor to the east, and the three cities share one school district, Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. A move between them is a local move at the hourly rate, with no distance charge; tell us about alleys or low branches at either house.

Colleyville

Colleyville lies north of Bedford, and if your Colleyville home has a gate or a long driveway, send us the gate details and where the truck can stand; we serve Colleyville at the same hourly rate, with no distance charge.

Moving in or out of a Bedford apartment community?

Some buildings have stairs and no elevator, others have an elevator to reserve, and each one sets its own rules for moving day, from the hours you may move to where a truck can stand.

  • Ask the leasing office which days and hours moves are allowed
  • Find out where the truck can park without blocking other residents
  • Reserve a spot close to your stairwell or elevator, if the office allows it

Let us know those rules up front, and the crew works out the parking and the carry; inside your unit, every piece of furniture goes into moving pads before it heads out the door.

Our online booking is built for an average apartment. If yours holds more than that, like a stuffed storage closet, a piano or unusually heavy pieces, ask for an exact quote or call (214) 204-7224 so the price matches your things.

What happens after you ask for a quote?

  1. Request a quote. Studios and 1- or 2-bedroom apartments of average size can book online and see an hourly estimate on the spot. For a Bedford house, give us the rooms, the large pieces, the two addresses and whether the alley is the easier way in; a written proposal usually reaches you within 30 minutes.
  2. Check the proposal. The written proposal lists the crew size, the truck, the hourly rate and the hours we expect; phone or text (214) 204-7224 with any question and we'll walk through it with you.
  3. Moving morning. The crew turns up on time, pads and wraps the furniture, takes beds and tables apart and fills the truck, and billed time starts only when they reach your Bedford address.
  4. One payment when it's done. With about 30 minutes of work left, your crew lead tells you the total: hours worked at your rate, billed in 15-minute steps after the 3-hour minimum, so 3 hours 10 minutes counts as 3 hours 15 minutes, with no card fee on any way of paying.

What Bedford moves usually look like

Most of our work as residential movers in Bedford is 3-bedroom brick houses: 3 movers, a 26-ft truck and 5–7 hours, more when the attic and the storage shed are full. Townhomes and apartments along SH-183 usually take 2 movers at $139 an hour, or 3 at $179 for a larger 2-bedroom. Many Bedford and Hurst moves go from an older house into a newer home nearby, and older kitchens and closets take longer to pack than the size suggests. Taking beds and tables apart and putting them back together is part of the move.

Old Bedford School

Before you move to Bedford

Bedford is in the deregulated Texas power market: Oncor delivers the electricity, and you choose a retail plan before moving day. The city contracts with Republic Services for trash and recycling and bills both on your city water bill, so start water service with the City of Bedford ahead of time. Bedford is in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD (HEB ISD); check the district's attendance zones for your street.

Republic picks up bulk items such as furniture and appliances at no added charge, within the city's size limit. Anything bigger needs an extra pickup scheduled with Republic, or a haul-away load on your move.

FAQs

Will the truck fit under the trees on my street?

Usually. If limbs hang low, tell us when you book, and trim them a few days before if you can.

Do you load from the alley?

Often, when the alley is wide enough and clear of wires and branches. Clear the garage side first so the crew can carry straight to the truck.

Is a Saturday move in Bedford more expensive?

No. Weekends are billed at the weekday rate, and Polaris charges no weekend fee.

Do I have to tip the movers?

No. Tipping is your choice; the crew won't ask for it, and a tip is never added to your bill. If you tip, all of it is theirs.

Are you licensed, and what insurance do you carry?

Yes. Bedford moves are done by Polaris, which the Texas DMV licenses as a household goods mover. On every move we carry all the insurance Texas law requires, plus cargo insurance.
