Grand Prairie Movers

5.0 on Google · No truck fee · No card fee · No distance charge

Leaving an apartment off SH-161 for a 2-story house by Joe Pool Lake, with a gate code and an HOA that names the truck entrance? Our Grand Prairie movers sort out both ends first. Polaris is locally owned and 5.0 on Google: $139 an hour buys 2 movers plus the truck, with no truck fee, card fee or distance charge.

An average apartment books online in minutes and sees its hourly estimate. For a house, we usually send your written proposal within 30 minutes.

What comes with every Grand Prairie move

The truck rides free
Many DFW movers bill a truck or travel fee on each booking, and one publishes $99. A 4-bedroom by Joe Pool Lake takes our 26-ft truck and 4 movers for 6.5 hours: 6.5 × $219 = $1,423.50, with $0 added for the truck.
No trip fee to Grand Prairie
The whole city, from Lone Star Park to the lake, sits in our service area, and getting the crew to you is free. You pay from the moment they reach your door.
No card fee
Some movers raise the bill when you pay by card; one DFW mover publishes 2.5%, which would add $35.59 to a $1,423.50 move. Our card price and our cash price are one number, for credit and debit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay alike.
A crew lead on every job
A crew lead brings their own crew and truck to each Grand Prairie move, goes through the house with you and keeps to the written proposal.
On time
Gate codes, leasing-office hours and closing appointments all run on a schedule, so your crew shows up on time.
Booked right away
Tired of waiting days for a price? A Grand Prairie house usually gets its written proposal within 30 minutes, and an average apartment can book online in a few minutes.

Huge thanks to the Polaris team for the incredible job! They worked so hard and were extremely efficient with time. I was worried about my heavy furniture and some fragile items, but they wrapped everything perfectly and moved them without a single scratch. They are true professionals who clearly know what they’re doing. Best moving service I’ve ever used!

Grand Prairie neighborhoods, lake subdivisions and gates

Grand Prairie stretches across parts of Dallas, Tarrant and Ellis counties, with a sliver in Johnson County. I-30 and I-20 cross it from east to west, and SH-161, the President George Bush Turnpike, runs north to south through the western part of the city. The north end, near I-30 and Lone Star Park (opened 1997), mixes older houses and apartments; the middle, along I-20 and SH-161, has many apartment communities; and the south end around Joe Pool Lake is mostly newer 2-story houses, often with HOAs.

Lake Ridge Parkway leads to Lynn Creek Park and the lakeside subdivisions, and some of them have a single entrance or a gate. Tell us the gate code and the entrance the builder or HOA wants trucks to use, and we plan the crew and the truck around it. There's no stair fee for the stairs in a 2-story lake house. Epic Waters, opened in 2018, and the Uptown Theater downtown are in the city too.

Where in Grand Prairie we move

Our crews start from Carrollton and cover all of Grand Prairie, from the I-30 corridor and Lone Star Park to the I-20 and SH-161 apartments and the subdivisions off Lake Ridge Parkway, plus Cedar Hill, Duncanville and Midlothian.

Cedar Hill and Duncanville

Cedar Hill borders Grand Prairie on the southwest, west and northwest, and Cedar Hill State Park sits on the northeast corner of Joe Pool Lake. Duncanville is just north of Cedar Hill, with I-20 crossing its northern part. Both sit in our service area: hourly billing, no distance charge.

Midlothian

Midlothian, in Ellis County, draws public water from Joe Pool Lake, and Midlothian ISD serves a small part of Grand Prairie too.

Moving in or out of a Grand Prairie apartment community?

Many Grand Prairie apartment communities sit along I-20 and SH-161, and some have gated parking, numbered buildings and tight turns between them. The leasing office decides where a moving truck can stop, and a few want your move on their schedule; if that spot is a long walk from your door, there's no long-carry fee.

  • Get the gate code for moving day, and ask whether the truck can come through the same gate
  • Ask the leasing office which building entrance and parking row the crew should use
  • Check the hours moves are allowed and whether weekend moves need a sign-up

Send those details with your quote request. Our apartment movers in Grand Prairie send the 16-ft truck to most studio and 1-bedroom moves, because it fits tight lots, and the crew pads and wraps every dresser, table and sofa before it goes down the stairs. A 2-bedroom along I-20 usually takes 2 or 3 movers for 3 to 5 hours, and the truck is in the rate.

Online booking is built for an average apartment. Own more than most, such as a loaded storage closet, a piano or a very heavy dresser? Ask for an exact quote, or ring (214) 204-7224, and your price will cover what you really have.

What Grand Prairie moves usually look like

We see 2 kinds of job here: apartment moves in the middle of the city, mostly 1 and 2 bedrooms with 2 or 3 movers, and family-house moves near the lake, with 3 or 4 movers and the 26-ft truck. Patio furniture and grills should be in the garage the day before, and kayaks, boats and other lake gear travel separately, since we move household goods only. Crews with 5 to 10+ years of experience take bed frames and tables apart in the old house and rebuild them in the new rooms near the lake. In a lake house, taking the TVs off the wall and unhooking the washer cost $0 extra.

Before you move to Grand Prairie

Most Grand Prairie homes buy power through the Oncor network, so choose a retail plan before your first night there. The city runs water and trash; open that account early, so the faucets work while the crew carries boxes in. Grand Prairie ISD serves most of the city's students, and parts are in Arlington, Cedar Hill, Irving, Mansfield and Midlothian ISDs, so check the district map for your exact address.

Flattened boxes can go out with your recycling. A worn-out couch or fridge staying behind? Grand Prairie offers a free weekly bulky-waste pickup booked through Republic Services, or we can haul it away during the move. The city doesn't pick up brush in private gated communities, so ask your HOA before you set a pile out.
