Our crew can pack your home, load it, move it and unpack it, so your movers and packers are the same people. Packing and unpacking are billed at the same hourly rate as moving, from $139 an hour for 2 movers, and that rate includes the truck. Boxes and other materials cost extra only when you ask for them, from $2.75 for a small box, and you pay only for what your move uses.
Full packing or partial packing?
With full packing, our professional packers box every room. Partial packing covers only the rooms you pick, such as the kitchen or anything that can break. Either way, your crew lead runs the packing and the move, and our movers have 5 to 10+ years of experience.
| Option | What the crew packs | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Full packing | Every room: kitchen, closets, books, decor, fragile items | Busy schedules, larger homes, long hours at work |
| Partial packing | The hard rooms only, usually the kitchen, glassware, art and mirrors | You box clothes and books; we handle what breaks |
| No packing | Nothing. You box everything before we arrive | The lowest bill |

How does packing change your bill?
Packing time is moving time: the same hourly crew rate, counted toward the 3-hour minimum and then in 15-minute steps. Your written proposal lists the packing you ask for.
For a full pack, the crew usually packs the day before and moves you the next morning.
| Crew | Per hour, truck included | Each 15 minutes after the minimum |
|---|---|---|
| 2 movers | $139 | $34.75 |
| 3 movers | $179 | $44.75 |
| 4 movers | $219 | $54.75 |
An example, not a quote: 3 movers pack your kitchen and closets for 2 hours, then load and move you for 4. That's 6 hours × $179 = $1,074, and the truck is in the rate.
If the move itself would take less than 3 hours, packing on the same day fills the minimum first.
What our customers say
-
5 out of 5 stars
Very good experience overall. We had a mix of heavy furniture and a lot of smaller boxes, the team handled everything without any issues and they didn't even rest for a minute. They wrapped the larger pieces properly and kept things organized while loading the truck fitting each space in the truck organized and secure so that nothing could fall or damage during the move.

I had a fantastic experience with Polaris Moving company for my move. They arrived exactly on time, wrapped all my fragile furniture in blankets, and didn't leave a single scratch on the walls. Most importantly, the final price was exactly what we discussed—no hidden fees. Highly recommend them if you want a professional, hassle-free move!

How a packing day runs
-
Ask for your quote. Studio to 2-bedroom homes of average size can book online and see an hourly estimate; bigger homes get a written quote. Tell us which rooms to pack, and your written proposal lists that packing with the rate, the crew and the hours we expect.
-
Hold your date. A $25 deposit that counts toward your total holds the date. If the date changes, the deposit moves with it, and you get it back if you cancel 48 hours or more before the move. Questions before then? Call or text (214) 204-7224.
-
Packing day. The crew lead walks through each room with you and agrees what gets packed and what you'll carry yourself. The kitchen and fragile items go first, because they take the longest and need the most care. Closets, books and decor follow. Every box is taped, labeled with its room and stacked by the door.
-
Moving day, then one payment. Furniture is wrapped in pads, taken apart where needed, and loaded with the boxes. Before you pay, your crew lead goes over the total with you: packing and moving hours at the same rate, in 15-minute steps after the 3-hour minimum, and a card costs the same as cash.
Why move with Polaris?
- No truck fee
- Some DFW movers add a truck or travel fee of $99 or more to every booking. We don't: 3 movers packing and moving for 5 hours come to 5 × $179 = $895, and the truck is in the rate.
- No distance charge
- We work in every DFW city with no trip fee and never bill by the mile. The drive between your two homes is billed as time, the same as the packing.
- No card fee
- One DFW mover lists a 2.5% card fee, which is $22.38 on an $895 bill. Paying us by card costs the same as cash or Zelle.
- An experienced crew lead
- Each packing job has a crew lead in charge of their own crew and truck, and our crews have 5 to 10+ years of moving experience.
- Always on time
- Your crew arrives on time on packing day and again on moving day.
- Booked right away
- A house usually gets its written proposal within 30 minutes of asking, and an average apartment can book online on the spot.
What do boxes and packing materials cost?
We charge for boxes, stretch wrap, tape and other materials only when you ask for them, and the crew brings them on the day. Moving pads, blankets and dollies cost $0: they come with every hour.
| Item | Price |

| Small box, 1.5 cu ft | $2.75 |
| Medium box, 3.1 cu ft | $3.75 |
| Large box, 4.5 cu ft | $5.00 |
| Extra-large box | $7.00 |

How do we pack fragile items?
Point out the pieces that worry you on the walk-through, and your crew lead has them packed first, in the boxes made for them.
-
Dishes and glasses go in dish pack boxes with paper between every piece
-
Mirrors and framed art go in mirror boxes
-
TVs go in TV boxes if you have the original box or buy one from us
-
Lamps, shades and plants: tell us in your quote so we bring the right boxes
Polaris is licensed by the Texas DMV and carries all the insurance Texas law requires, plus cargo insurance. Our liability for loss or damage is $0.60 per pound per article, as written in your proposal and bill of lading.
What we won't pack
- Cash, jewelry, documents, passports and medication: keep these with you
- Anything flammable or hazardous: propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinner, cleaning chemicals, aerosols
- Perishable food and open liquids
- Pets travel with you, not on the truck; ask us about plants
Not sure about an item? Ask your crew lead on the walk-through.
Unpacking at your new home
We can unpack at your new home at the same hourly rate: kitchen first, then the rooms you choose.
List those rooms in your quote, and your written proposal includes the unpacking hours. The crew also puts beds and tables back together as part of the move.
